Foreword:
Today, perhaps more than in any time in history, multitudes are involved in personal Bible study and prayer, individually and with fellowship groups. A tremendous spiritual hunger is being met by a variety of good study materials that are currently available.
Personally, I believe that The Godly Woman: Personal Bible Studies for the Christian Woman is unique. In this book, you have an excellent combination of well-designed lessons with relevance to the issues and problems of the day, deeply rooted in Scripture with practical application of biblical truth to specific areas of life. You also have a large variety of rich resource materials in the "Suggestions for Further Study" section at the end of each session.
If you use this study in a group setting, another unique feature you have is a "built-in" fellowship through prayer and sharing. Group members pray for each other daily, an in weekly Bible discussion share their Bible discoveries and what God is doing in their lives.
I am confident that any person who is willing to follow the disciplines set forth in these studies will greatly enhance her relationship to God and man and her effectiveness as a Christian witness.

Purpose
To help produce in you the kind of person whose life is explainable only in terms of God. To create in you the kind of life other women seek for help and counsel. To enable you to more perfectly reflect the Lord Jesus Christ in His glory.
Design
The Godly Woman Bible Study is designed for individual or group use.
This series contains twenty-two sessions you can work through at your own pace and in the privacy of your personal study time. The Study Guide (and/or Book) is meant to be printed out and written in. You would need no further materials unless you desired to do the additional study recommended at the close of each session.
The Study Guide is also part of a complete program for small groups utilizing a Teacher's Guide and the accompanying audios. It is designed to be covered in twenty-two, one-hour sessions and contains everything you would need to conduct an effective group study.
Suggestions for Further Study
At the end of each chapter you will find "Suggestions for Further Study." The books and pamphlets may be obtained from your local Christian bookstore. The audios are available online at DiscipleshipLibrary.com. All the audios are also available on cassette on a free loan basis (no charge except for postage and handling) from Discipleship Tape Library, 435 West Boyd, Norman, Oklahoma 73069 (405-329-2990).

Today's women are seeking answers to life. Some are clamoring for 'their rights', equality and liberation - seeking to be fulfilled. Others have discovered that true fulfillment comes to a woman when her life is explainable only in terms of God. The quality of such a life draws other seeking hearts to her for help and counsel.
My deepest desire and prayer is that God would use this study in the lives of countless women to point them to the One Who alone gives that quality of life explainable only in terms of God. Wherever possible I have lifted chapters in their entirety from my husband's book The Godly Man in an effort to make The Godly Woman a companion study covering the same topics.
Much of the material has been borrowed and culled from many sources. It would be impossible to give proper credit to all of them, but I trust they will accept my humble thanks for their work and contribution. I owe a special debt of gratitude to those whose encouragement and prayers enabled me to complete this study - especially my husband and the girls in my Bible study. My the Lord reward them richly for their faithful investment.
